Youth Group Back Again!
As the summer break is ending, I believe I have a good plan in place that will allow the youth community to meet, seek the Lord, and grow in discipleship. A plan that opens ways for youth mentors to participate in the life of youth as well as work within my personal limits in a healthier way. For this next year, the youth will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. The 2nd week of the month youth will meet for 2 hours at the church from 5:00 to 7 pm. On that day we will eat together, play games, do devotions, and listen to testimonies from others in the community.
On the 4th Sunday of the month, we will have a scheduled event/outing (go-kart, bowling, dance party, campus visits, sky zone, etc.). Looking back, I realize how important these outings/events are for our youth. The stories that are told, the relationships that are built, the community that is formed, and the witness to the community have all been byproducts of these experiences. However, because we will be traveling, and such the times youth will meet on these days will fluctuate. Youth will be given permission slips on the 2nd Sunday with all the details about pick up and drop offs, and waivers.
Lastly, I am asking for everyone who is involved with youth or has a teen in the youth group to download the ULCC App and Join the group in the app named Youth Group. I am so excited about this season of youth group, and I hope you will join me in praying for these young people as we seek the face of the Lord.
