Lezlie is an ordained Pastor at Urban Light through the Churches of God, General Conference and has assisted with Urban Light’s planting and leadership since 2005. She earned a Masters of Practical Theology from Winebrenner Theological Seminary, and a BA in Philosophy. She served for 8 years on the Administrative Council for the Midwest Region of the Churches of God, including as its President.
Pastor “Z” which the congregation lovingly calls her, enjoys helping the church function as the body of Christ – each person living in their giftings and contributing to a life together lived in service to the community around us. You might see her behind the pulpit and in the choir on Sundays. During the week, Z helps build up the worshiping community, creating church communications, coordinating ministry leadership and the order of worship, providing pastoral counseling, and connecting with community partners.
Z and her husband, Pat, believe that their location is important to service. They live just a few blocks from the church and have for nearly 20 years. She serves as president of the South Central Neighborhood Association, and on the Steering Committee for the 8twelve Coalition. “We love living our life on our front porch and knowing our neighbors.” She believes the life of Jesus makes the whole community thrive.
Lezlie and Pat have been married for more than twenty years and have two teenage children, Israel and Eden. Pat can also be found in leadership at the church as Children’s Director and gathering people around our monthly community meals.
