Pastor Maria Wilson serves as the pastor of social and mental health services at Urban Light Community Church as well as the Executive Director of the upcoming Urban Light Social Services Hub. She came to Urban Light in 2010, and has been on staff since 2013.
Maria is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist (MSW, LCSW), earning both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Indiana University. She has over 35 years of experience working in the field of social services including past work as a director at the Indiana Department of Child Services. In addition to her role as Pastor at Urban Light, she is an adjunct professor for Indiana University School of Social Work, teaching in the area of Community Development.
Pastor Maria lives out of her passion for serving communities in the areas of overall equality and efficient healthcare. She was born and rasied here in Muncie and invests heavily in this community. She also enjoys traveling and seeing new places. Maria has two adult sons and one grandson.
